Developing best practice for information and data quality management.
London. Tuesday 10th - Wednesday 11th March 2009

The Ark group assembled a relatively small number of delegates, with their usual bias towards Public and third sector organisations, though one or two large corporates were represented. The scale of the conference worked in it's favour though, and there was lively level of interaction and debate sorely lacking in some larger events

As a result some themes came through clearly and speakers and audience left with a consensus view of the state of bext practice right now that shows signs of moving on from recived wisdom of the last few years. The change can best be summed up in three shifts in thinking that came out from the sessions

from "Data Quality is a business issue not a technology issue" to "Data Quality is a cultural issue"
from "Fitness for purpose" to "Data Quality is in the eye of the beholder"
from "Preaching the gospel" to "Short sharp pilot projects that prove value and win support"
